Welcome to Alotau, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Papua New Guinea. This off-the-beaten-path destination is a true paradise for adventurous souls seeking to explore the untamed beauty of the South Pacific. Alotau is located in the Milne Bay Province of Papua New Guinea, a country situated in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The town itself is nestled on the shores of Milne Bay, a deep fjord-like harbor that stretches along the southeastern coast of Papua New Guinea’s mainland. I took a taxi around the town and into the countryside for two hours for a very reasonable price.  When traveling in Alotau, it’s important to keep in mind that infrastructure and transportation options may vary.
